PIRATE PARODY
GET RRRRREADY TO RRRRRUMBLE WITH YOUR CRRRRRREW!
PEG LEGS, EYE PATCHES, AND PARROTS ARE WELCOME!
Here's an overview of Stephen’s message for tonight:
“The Greatest of Commissions” Matthew 28:16-20
Big Idea - The One Who holds all authority told His followers what they should spend the rest of their lives doing— Making other followers of Jesus. There are different ways to play a role in that effort in different seasons of your life, but disciple-making is the job.
Feel free to use the following discussion questions during your church group share time tonight after worship:
1) What areas of our life are we tempted to think that Jesus does not (should not) have authority over?
2) How does sectioning off your life from that authority negatively affect you?
3) What opportunities are available in your church to be actively involved in disciple-making?
4) What things can you work to improve right now, that might create future disciple-making opportunities?
Tonight we will have the Campy Awards! At 10:00, we will meet in the Tabernacle. We encourage everyone to dress up in their thrift shop prom attire, though it is not required.
Mission Offering
No disrespect to 'Budget the Bear' or 'LaunchMan', Daniel Begnaud is the heart of all things 'Launch'. Daniel has given his blood, sweat, tears, and honestly - his entire self to supporting local churches in Student Ministry. While he was still the student pastor at Central Baptist Church in Buna, Daniel began to cast a vision for more than "just an associational week of camp at ETBE", but a ministry of partnering churches in Southeast Texas that took discipling teenagers seriously. Since the word GO, he has been connecting ministers and lay leaders with training and fellowship, developing spring and fall associational events, helping churches find resources and staffing to meet their own student ministry goals, and running the best week(s) of summer camp in Southeast Texas! Daniel began full-time with the Sabine Neches Baptist Area in January 2023, and churches all over are better for it.
Through this season, if just that wasn't enough to be amazed by, Daniel has been fighting colon cancer for the last seven years. This journey has seen ups and downs, amazing stories of victory, and gloomy days of misery. Daniel has marched through these seasons with praise and hope, encouragement to others, and an undeniable testimony of an awesome God.
Daniel's ongoing war with cancer is currently sidelined as he is in a treatment plan to manage pain associated with his battle-weary body. The costs of healthcare and travel take their toll, and we (the Launch Planning Team) come to you asking for help. Our mission offering this year will go to Daniel, his wife Hannah, and their two kids, Luke and Ava. The offering you give will help offset the expense related to his treatment and care. We "can do this" for our friend and brother-in-Christ as we also must leave so many things to the Lord and Daniel's medical professionals.
In years past, Daniel has led the way in shaping our mission offering to help others, we now come asking you to help him and his family.
If you have a student that has a made a decision this week (salvation, rededication, call to ministry, or something else we can celebrate) please let us know! Text Zach at 409-(409) 920-5614 and share it with us.
We’ve also created this resource for any student who is saved this week. Share this 7 day devotional with them to help kickstart their walk with Jesus!
We have merch! If you or your students want some Launch branded items, including custom colors for your color group, check out our merch table in the foyer of the Tabernacle.
